Job purpose:   

Management and control of a domain engineering squads (tribe), manage the entire domain delivery and architecture and providing guidance on using best practices, engineering methods and tools, using agile and Spotify models.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: (max of 7 accountabilities not main or daily duties or tasks)

  • Take full responsibility for the application lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of the product roadmap.
  • Drive technical innovation and explore new technologies to enhance product capabilities.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Develop and maintain robust high-level and low-level architectures, providing clear technical specifications.
  • Manage, support, and evaluate engineer performance, ensuring continuous growth and development.
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard top engineering talent, providing opportunities for professional development.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize engineering processes, automate tasks, and enhance efficiency.
  • Encourage creative thinking and problem-solving to identify new approaches and solutions that improve product quality.
  • Work closely with product managers, tribe leadership, and other stakeholders to define product strategy and align technical decisions.
  • Provide expert input on strategic technical decisions, ensuring alignment with long-term product goals.

Must have technical / professional qualifications (knowledge & Skills level of presence in the job (High/Medium/Low)

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years as an architect or technical lead.
  • BSc of Engineering or BTech degree.
  • 10 years of .NET development experience, with expertise in open-source technologies, Angular TS, Microsoft technologies, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience working in payments or e-commerce companies, particularly with high-volume transactional systems and fintech products.
  • Proven track record of managing, mentoring, and growing engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD environments, automation-based SDLC processes, and microservices architecture.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects in cloud environments.
  • Experience working with outsourced and local teams, distributed and remote teams, and multiple concurrent projects.
